Every connected portal shows a status in GetMyInvoices. It tells you at a glance whether invoice retrieval is running or whether you need to take action. In this article, you'll learn what each status message means and how to proceed in each case.
Why you should keep your login data up to date
To retrieve your invoices, GetMyInvoices logs in to each portal with your login data - just as you would yourself. Every portal provider sets its own login and security rules and keeps changing them: passwords expire, new confirmation steps are added, or two-factor authentication is changed.
We monitor these changes continuously and adapt our connections so your invoice retrieval keeps running as smoothly as possible. However, some steps can only be completed by the account holder - for example, setting a new password or confirming a security prompt.
Our tip: Update your login data in GetMyInvoices as soon as you change it in the portal, and check your portals’ status regularly. That way you'll notice early when something needs to be done, and no invoices will be missing.
Connected
Meaning: The portal is successfully connected and downloads your documents automatically at the set interval.
What you can do: No action is needed here. If invoices are still missing, feel free to contact our support team.
Download running
Meaning: GetMyInvoices is currently retrieving your documents from the portal.
What you can do: You don't need to do anything else.
Download delayed
Meaning: The portal itself is currently unavailable, or we are adjusting our connection to this portal.
What you can do: Usually no action is needed. If the status persists for more than 3 days, feel free to send our support team a ticket. We'll then take a closer look at the case.
Paused
Meaning: The portal is currently inactive. No documents are retrieved while it's in this state.
What you can do: Reactivate the portal so the connection can be established again. If the portal paused itself without you deactivating it, please contact our support team.
Login failed
Meaning: The portal reports that the login data stored in GetMyInvoices is incorrect.
What you can do
- Check your login data and update it in GetMyInvoices. It's best to log in directly to the portal first to verify it.
- Log in to the portal via single sign-on (e.g. “Sign in with Google”) and activate this option in the portal's advanced download options in GetMyInvoices.
- If the message appears despite correct login data, contact our support team. Please send us the address (URL) of the page where you can successfully log in with the login data stored with us.
Action required
Meaning: During an ongoing retrieval, a two-factor authentication (2FA) request is waiting for your confirmation.
What you can do
- Click directly on the status and confirm the open request.
- If the portal offers confirmation via an authenticator app, activate Auto2FA. Future requests will then be confirmed automatically - see Automatic Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) - Already Linked Portals .
- If the portal doesn't offer an authenticator app, the request must be confirmed manually every time the portal asks for it.
- Does the portal offer an authenticator app, but Auto2FA isn't yet available for this portal in GetMyInvoices? Feel free to write to our support team - we'll check whether we can set it up.
Good to know: If Auto2FA doesn't work as expected, the article Automatic 2FA Retrieval Fails - What to Do? can help.
Login required again
Meaning: GetMyInvoices needs to log in to the portal again. Possible reasons:
- The current session in the portal has expired.
- The stored login data is no longer correct.
- A 2FA request wasn't confirmed during retrieval.
What you can do
- Check the stored login data.
- If possible, activate Auto2FA so future 2FA requests are confirmed automatically.
- Re-establish the connection to the portal.
Account not ready
Meaning: Your account in the portal isn't yet ready for invoice retrieval. Possible reasons:
- A confirmation is pending in the portal, e.g. agreeing to new terms and conditions or further consents.
- Setting up your account in the portal hasn't been completed yet.
- The stored user doesn't have permission to retrieve invoices.
What you can do
- Log in directly to the portal and check whether it's asking you to confirm anything.
- Open the invoice overview in the portal and make sure the stored user can download invoices.
