Step 1 Add an email account
- In the dashboard, click your account name in the top right corner.
- Select Email Accounts from the drop-down menu.
- Click Add Email Account.
- Select Set up invoice import directly.
- Select the IMAP tile.
Step 2 Enter your credentials
If auto-configuration doesn't recognize your provider, enter the details manually:
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| IMAP server | imap.your-provider.com |
| Port | 993 |
| Encryption | SSL/TLS |
| Username | usually your full email address |
Then click Save.
Step 3 Select the folder
Select the folders you want to import invoices from, then click Next.
Tip: Where possible, select a dedicated invoice folder instead of your whole inbox. This makes the import faster and more reliable. See How to Optimize Your Email Inbox for More Efficient Management .
Step 4 Set the import method
Choose the appropriate import method and click Save.
The account is now connected, and the import runs automatically.
Connection not working?
If GetMyInvoices reports “Mail server denied authentication,” the cause is usually incorrect credentials, a missing app password, or disabled IMAP access. See Mail server denied authentication .
