This message appears when GetMyInvoices cannot sign in to your email account. Usually one of the following reasons is the cause.
Note: You connect Google and Microsoft accounts in GetMyInvoices via direct sign-in with the provider (OAuth). The following points apply to accounts you connect via IMAP with a username and password.
Reason 1 The username or password is incorrect
The password was changed, or a typo crept in when entering it. Some providers expect the full email address as the username.
Solution: Re-enter the username and password in the connection settings. Use the full email address as the username, for example [email protected] . It's best to check the credentials beforehand by signing in directly to your provider's webmail.
Reason 2 Two-factor authentication is enabled
If your email account is protected with a second factor, for example via SMS or an app, signing in with your normal password won't work.
Solution: Create an app password with your email provider, for example with GMX, Web.de, iCloud, or Yahoo. Enter this app password in GetMyInvoices instead of your normal password.
Reason 3 IMAP access is disabled
GetMyInvoices retrieves your emails via IMAP. With some providers, this access is disabled by default, for example GMX and Web.de.
Solution: Enable IMAP, or access via external email programs, in your email account's settings. For company accounts, your IT administrator may need to do this.
Reason 4 The server settings are incorrect
If the server name, port, or encryption are wrong, the server rejects the connection.
Solution: Check your provider's IMAP details. Port 993 with SSL/TLS is standard. You can find the correct server name (e.g. imap.your-provider.com) in your email provider's help section.
